March 16, 2020 from Cardinal O'Brien:
Just back from Rome to receive your good news, a rich spiritual bouquet joined in by so many good, faithful Catholics! Thank you, one and all!! |
January 13, 2020 From Father Erik Arnold:
Thank you so much, and thank you to everyone who is praying for me!!! I am so grateful for these prayers and I really do feel the effects of them. I know that the real battle we face is spiritual, so I am thankful for the prayers and protection that come from so many generous prayer warriors. God bless you November 4, 2019 From Seminarian Stephen Kirby:
Thank you so much Mrs. Sitzwohl! It was truly humbling and encouraging to look at the list this morning, and I can't thank you enough for organizing this. And October 16 after telling Stephen about what was to come: Thank you so much for organizing this! The prayers I receive from home are tangible in my life at the seminary; on tougher days I am always reminded of the prayers and support that keep me united to Jesus even when I myself am struggling to pray. |
January 11, 2020 From Seminarian Ben Oursler:
Thank you so much for preparing a spiritual bouquet for me! I was struggling with some discouragement over the break and receiving this bouquet was like an answer to a prayer. While I was out in Phoenix, AZ at a conference, I went into the church there to do a holy hour to ask God for the grace to keep persevering and it was so encouraging to receive your email and to know of the many many people who are praying for me and offering sacrifices as I discern if I am being called to the vocation of the priesthood. After a several day silent retreat this past week and now being back in the seminary, I am excited for this second semester and to keep witnessing the wonderful things the Lord is doing in my life and in all of my brother seminarians' lives as well. Please communicate to everyone who is so graciously praying for me that their prayers are not in vain and are quite a powerful witness of what God can do with what we may consider to just be our "five loaves of bread and two fish" (cf. Mt. 14: 13-21). I am so very grateful. |

I’ve received many emails recently regarding my column about Fr. James Martin, S.J. I think your email is related to that in some way. Thank you very much for your words of support. But more importantly, I am deeply grateful for the spiritual bouquet. It’s really wonderful and generous. Thanks so very, very much.
May the Lord bless you abundantly in every way.
Sincerely and gratefully yours in Christ,

Cathy, Thank you very much for coordinating this and for your prayers! Please convey my gratitude for your community too. It was really moving to look through the names and expressions of prayer... made me miss OLF even more. Things here in South Baltimore are going really well. It's a balancing act to maintain the priority of the mission of the Gospel over the mission of maintaining and utilizing our 10 old city buildings. I definitely appreciate and rely on the prayers. I am praying for you all as well. Peace, Fr. Josh (Laws) |

Below is gratitude to you for your prayers for Bishop Paprocki. Dear Ms. Sitzwohl, Bishop Paprocki thanks you for your recent e-mail, and for sharing your support and encouragement regarding the decree he issued declaring that pro-abortion legislators should not receive Holy Communion in the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois. It is his solemn duty, as Bishop of our diocese, to defend the integrity of the Eucharist and to provide moral clarity to all those who may be scandalized or directly involved in promoting public policies that contradict God’s law. We pray that this action will be a call to awareness and conversion for the lawmakers who continue to advance legislation that disregards the dignity of human life. Your gift of a spiritual bouquet is also very much appreciated by Bishop. He asked that I convey to you this appreciation and tell you that he will pray for you and thank God for your kindness and support. With thanks and prayers, Office of the Bishop |

Hi Cathy (and all the prayer warriors listed!), Not gonna lie - As I read the names and prayer commitments, it brought tears to my eyes to know that I have so many advocates and intercessors praying on my behalf. For that, words fail me in expressing my gratitude. I hold each of you up today in a prayer of thanksgiving for your deep faith that so inspires me. Please continue to pray for our priests and bishops, so many of whom are under attack as they strive for holiness and healing in the Church. And know how deeply I appreciate your prayers as I minister to my brother priests, deacons, and seminarians that God grant me wisdom and his own heart in each encounter. Gratefully, Fr. Jim Proffitt |
